GODFIDENCE

What if I told you that I had a COMPLETELY different blog post ready to post this morning, but after a great conversation with my flatmate who had just returned home from fellowship, my mind was like ‘girllll… I think you need to switch it up because someone needs to get this message now’.

GODFIDENCE : /GODFEDENS/ noun

A feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s firm trust and belief in God.

I came across this word sometime in 2015, and I’ve been using it ever since. It resonates with a lot of things I do because even though I may be anxious about stepping into my power, this anxiety soon disappears, and as I always say, ONLY GOD !

..........

I am a Christian and I was brought up in a Christian household. I am well aware that all my readers or anyone who comes across this post may not be Christian or a believer in a higher power.

...........

Godfidence, confidence in God, faith, trust, it all means the same thing. Giving up your worries, your hopes and dreams, your gratitude, your everything, and exercising mustard seed faith (Matthew 17:20).

Let’s just focus on the last part of my previous sentence – MUSTARD SEED FAITH. This verse teaches so many lessons that we don’t even think about all of it. Not only does it touch on faith, but also patience. Do you know how small a mustard seed is ?

Yes, it is THAT small. Mustard seed faith is all about trusting the process, and being patient with the process. Our timing is one thing, but God’s timing is something completely different! Everything happens at its appointed time.

We pray and expect immediate results, and this is not always the case. Be patient with your requests, show gratitude and continue praying even when they’ve been answered.

“Anyone too busy to say thank you will get fewer and fewer chances to say it.” – Harvey Mackay

Trust the process. Trust the timing, and [as my sister always says] EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT!

Extra sparkle alert – UNICORN’S PICK EDITION

I’m on a reading journey and my February/March book was “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale. I got this book because the title caught my eye, and to my surprise it is filled with scripture that related to the various chapters in the book.

From the 1st chapter which was based on faith, I wrote these down:

- Philippians 4:13

- Matthew 9:29

- Matthew 17:20 (mustard seed faith)

- Romans 8:31

- Luke 17:21

If there’s something you’re trusting God [or man] for, don’t stop believing – TRUST THE PROCESS !
