My favourite motivational videos

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

The video I uploaded last Thursday has gotten so many great reviews and I am truly thankful to each and every one of you who made the time to watch the video and sent me messages of how much it inspired them.

A few people have asked which specific videos I listened and continue to listen to, and I thought it would be worth creating this blog post with the YouTube links. I have included some commentary on some of them to explain when and why I listened to them.

When I first discovered motivational videos, I discovered those that were compilations of various movies/videos and Eric Thomas. They were usually five minutes or less and I remember downloading them – YouTube to MP3 style, and putting them on my phone. I would listen on the buses to school and had them playing until either one of my friends got to school or maybe a classmate of mine arrived.

If you’re just starting out and want some short videos to try out, have a listen to these:

I haven’t listened to most of these videos in YEARS since I now really prefer the longer videos. It was so refreshing hearing them again.

Zig Ziglar

This is really a favourite of mine. It’s worth the length and I think it’s the only video of his which I have come across that I really like.

Les Brown

It’s Possible (Les Brown’s Greatest Hits) MY FAVOURITE LES BROWN VIDEO (at least my fave that this long)

Lisa Nichols aka my NUMBER ONE SPEAKER

Step Into Your Life Purpose | Lisa Nichols This is the first video I ever saw from Lisa Nichols and I have been hooked ever since!

Fun fact: I listen to this video before ANY big thing I have to do. Whether it is leading a training, or an interview or just attending a meeting for the first time. This video gets me in the right state of mind!

All of these motivational videos have something in common – none of them is MY story. However, I find it amazingly refreshing that despite us having different journeys, we can find motivation from others. We can use your determination, tenacity, perseverance and so much more, to help us reach our own goals.

Like I said in my video, motivational videos are not for everyone, so find what works for you. From podcasts to songs, there is something that everyone can relate to, that will help give them the boost their need.

It’s okay that motivation is not intrinsic to you. Different people need different things. If your immediate circle of family and friends are not able to give you the push you need, turn to the voices of motivational speakers, podcast hosts and artists to get you there.

I hope my compiled list takes you to at least one video which will impact your life.

Happy listening!
